In 2024, the Covington and Brown families followed what they believed was a calling from The Most High to leave the United States and begin a new life in Namibia. Two years later, this documentary explores their journey of faith, relocation, and adaptation as members of the African diaspora reconnecting with the continent. Through honest conversations and daily life, the film highlights both the beauty and complexity of building a future in Africa.
While the Brown family embraces a homestead lifestyle closer to the land, the Covington family navigates life in a suburban Namibian community with modern amenities and business pursuits. Together, their stories offer two distinct perspectives on diaspora life in Namibia. The documentary also examines the real challenges they have encountered along the way, including the ongoing difficulty of securing long-term residency and stability while seeking to establish roots in the country they now call home.
